About Roast Loop Courier

Roast Loop Courier began with a quiet idea in Sheffield’s coffee scene — to make freshly roasted beans from small independent roasters available in the most direct, down-to-earth way possible. Instead of warehouses or long storage, we work with local roasting partners who finish their batches in the same week they’re sent out. That means shorter routes, fewer transfers, and coffee that still carries the aroma of the drum when it reaches your doorstep.

Our name, Roast Loop, reflects both the circular route our couriers take and the rhythm of weekly roasting. Each loop begins early morning, when roasters cool their latest batches, and ends with the last evening delivery. It’s a system built for freshness, not volume — you’ll often see our marked bikes and small vans taking the same simple route through the city, one crate at a time.

We believe that coffee doesn’t need complicated subscriptions or automated messages. Instead, we focus on a short set of plans that can be paused, changed, or restarted with a single note. Our team replies directly — no bots or ticket systems — and each message goes to the same small office in Norfolk Street, Sheffield.

Every partner roaster we work with has their own character. Some specialise in single-origin beans from South America or East Africa, others roast small blends suited to classic espresso machines. We don’t rebrand or alter their packaging; we simply protect and deliver it. This approach keeps names visible, credit intact, and flavour profiles authentic.

For many of our regulars, Roast Loop acts as an easy way to explore new coffees without jumping between websites. Each delivery includes a short card with tasting notes, brewing advice, and roast dates. We also gather brief feedback from each batch, so local roasters see how their coffee performs outside their shop.

Our environmental steps are practical, not just decorative. We reuse insulated carriers for local rounds, offset longer trips with verified UK woodland projects, and keep printed material to a minimum. Most bags are recyclable or compostable, depending on the partner. We’re not fully waste-free yet, but every season we trim something unnecessary.

The team itself includes baristas, former couriers, and one engineer who maintains our grinders and sealing tools. Everyone contributes ideas to improve the loop — whether it’s packaging layout or delivery timing during winter. Our shared goal is simply to make each order arrive in good time, cleanly packed, and clearly labelled.

We continue to expand across South Yorkshire while keeping the same principles: fair pay for roasters, realistic prices for drinkers, and transparent communication for both. If you ever have a suggestion, the easiest way is still the simplest — just send a quick message to [email protected] or stop by at 18 Norfolk Street, Sheffield.
